The mission of the Australian Chamber Choir is
- To promote choral music, including particularly through the development and performances of the Australian Chamber Choir.
- To contribute to Australia’s musical diversity by enriching the quality of choral performance.
- To perform a variety of works, in particular to promote the performance of new works by emerging and established Australian composers. Other artists may be involved from time to time.
- To take Australian works and other works to the widest possible audience through regional, national and international touring.
- To make the work of the Australian Chamber Choir widely accessible through the use of various media.
We present excellent choral concerts to audiences in Melbourne, regional Victoria, Sydney, Canberra and regional NSW and are working to gradually expand our reach, both through live performance and through various media.
Our imaginative programmes present music from the Renaissance to the present day, with a particular emphasis on music by Australian composers, emerging and established. Touring our uniquely Australian programs internationally every two years, our young singers are cultural ambassadors for their country. The ACC provides a rigorous training ground for young professional musicians, providing them with opportunities to teach, to perform in various sized ensembles and to tour both nationally and internationally.
