1. Mozart Requiem

This is a rare opportunity to hear one of the greatest choral works, performed using the instruments of the composer’s time. Mozart’s basset horns, of which there is no modern equivalent, are heard from the first bar, adding their plaintive voice-like quality to the orchestral timbre. Written during the final weeks of the composer’s life for a patron who wished to remain anonymous, this unfinished work is shrouded in mystery.

  • Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina – Stabat Mater
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Requiem
